Princess of Wales

Paul Stauber, Director of Planning for the Bro Morgannwg Health Trust, declared himself very satisfied with the performance of main contractor, Terrapin Limited, on the £4.6 million extension to facilities at the Princess of Wales Hospital at Bridgend.

The 40,000 sq ft two storey building houses the hospitals ophthalmic unit, including two operating theatres, the urology and neurology clinics, a rapid assessment unit and the hospitals IT team, as well as an internal courtyard.

While touring the building with Terrapin Group Chairman, William Orr, and Des Keighan, Assistant Director of Facilities for the Bro Morgannwg NHS Trust, all members of staff he spoke to said how pleased they were with the concept and quality of the facilities. Many commented that the patients were also delighted.

By completing each phase of the highly serviced building to programme, Terrapin allowed some 6,000 appointments to proceed according to schedule at their new ophthalmic unit.
