Ark Association, Oakham

When Mary Darlington, Administrator for childcare organisation, Ark Association, wished to replace her outdated nursery structure, Terrapin handled the entire project. We provided a total package including: demolition, groundworks and erection, all mechanical and electrical supply, connection to the main water services, play areas and landscaping.

The existing, outdated building was in the midst of a residential area in Oakham, Rutland in Leicestershire. For this new purpose-designed building, Mary appointed Terrapin as the main contractor, having had previous experience of the company.

Terrapin had to overcome the problems of a very tight site with difficult access in order to demolish the old structure and replace it with a smart, new, pitched roof building manufactured using off site construction techniques.

The building has a total floor area of 171 sq m, providing childcare accommodation for up to 36 children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.
